Joe Neves, Kings County Supervisor
Born - March 29, 1958, in Hanford, California, and was the fourth-generation farming family that came to Kings County in 1913. Joe Neves was the third generation to attend Stratford Elementary School, second generation to graduate from Lemoore High School (Class of 1976), and the first generation to graduate college. He graduated from West Hills Community College, University of Phoenix and Brandman University. Joe is married to his wife Kathy.
Work Experience - Family farming operation that included diversified farming, beef production, and trucking of agriculture commodities. Worked on family farm through high school and college until 1986 when he became manager of the Stratford Public Utilities District. Stratford is a special district serving the community’s needs of public works. Elected to the Kings County Board of Supervisors in 1994 and is continues to serve the people of Kings County.
Memberships - Stratford I.D.E.S. Hall, Stratford Chamber of Commerce, Lemoore Chamber of Commerce, Stratford Volunteer Fire Department, Central California Claus Ambassadors (Founding member), Hanford Fraternal Hall Association, Kiwanis Club of Lemoore, Lemoore High School Freshman and JV Football, along with Varsity Baseball and Softball announcer, West Hills College Woman's Basketball announcer, Kings County Cabrillo Club and Kings County Farm Bureau. Education and Certificates - master’s in business administration; State of California - Grade II - Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator; and Class-A Drivers License with all endorsements, with Motorcycle license.
Awards - Alumnus of the Year - West Hills College; Lemoore FFA Honor Member; Tachi Tribe Award; Lemoore Athletic Event Staff; Lemoore High School Hall of Fame, Golden Apple Award from Kings County School Boards, King of BBQ-Kings District Fair; Lemoore Citizen of the Year, Lemoore City Community Service Award (2013) and Kiwanis “Member of the Year” - all shared with wife Kathy.
